MONROE, La. - John Schmidt has resigned his position as the head coach of the ULM volleyball team effective Jan. 1, 2010, ULM director of athletics Bobby Staub announced Friday.

"I have been blessed to have had the opportunity to be ULM's volleyball head coach for four seasons," Schmidt said. "I have enjoyed the experiences and relationships I have formed while in Monroe."

Natalie Rawson will assume the role of interim head coach and a search for Schmidt's replacement will begin immediately.
