BATON ROUGE, La. -- ULM guard
Jasmine Shaw has been named the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Women's Basketball
Player of the Week following a career day Sunday in the Warhawks' 73-55 victory
over Southern Miss.
The junior from Flower Mound, Texas netted a career-best 27 points
against the Golden Eagles on 11-of-19 shooting from the field. It bested her
previous career-high of 18 points set against Nicholls State last season. Shaw
also pulled down nine rebounds, collected four steals and handed out four
assists in 37 minutes.
The 27 points was the most by a ULM player this season and the most
since Larrie Williams scored 28 at Southern Miss on Dec. 10, 2011. Shaw leads
the team with an average of 11.1 points per game while shooting 40.9 percent
(38-of-93) from the field this season.
The Warhawks are back in action Tuesday at 7 p.m. at 12th-ranked Texas.
The game can be seen on the Longhorn Network.
