OXFORD, Miss. – The ULM track & field team wrapped up a full day of competition Saturday at the Ole Miss Invitational.
The day saw several Warhawks move up the Sun Belt's performance list, including freshman Nigel Cribbs in the men's 400-meter dash. Cribbs, a native of Hoover, Ala., posted a fifth-place finish in the 400 with a personal-best time of 47.74. The time ranks seventh in the Sun Belt this season.
Coming off a win last weekend at Stephen F. Austin, senior Clint Broussard followed up with a third-place effort on Saturday clearing 2.08 meters. Freshman Jonathan Mack finished just behind Broussard in fourth place with a season-best leap of 1.98 meters.
Freshman Dusan Makevic made his season debut in the 1,500-meter run, finishing sixth in a time of 3:56.55, while senior Daniel Mutai finished just behind in seventh place in a time of 3:56.67.
The reigning Sun Belt Track Athlete of the week, junior Martin Solomon turned in a pair of top 10 finishes once again as he took fourth (second best collegiate) in the men's 400-meter hurdles (53.33) and ninth in the men's 110-meter hurdles (14.80).
Freshman Joey Womack finished fifth in the men's javelin with a best throw of 56.68 meters on the day.
The ULM men's 4x400-meter relay team finished just off its season-best with a time of 3:11.78 to place fourth behind two of the top squads in the East Region.
On the women's side, senior Jacobi Wilson clocked a season-best time of 24.62 to finish 13th in the 200-meter dash. Her time ranks as the eighth-best in the Sun Belt this season. Wilson also finished fifth in the 400-meter dash with a season-best time of 56.04.
Freshman Rychlend Martin-Horne cleared 1.60 meters for the first time this season to finish sixth in the high jump. Senior Danielle O'Donnell also cleared 1.60 meters and finished 10th overall.
In the women's javelin, sophomore Megan Caillouet posted a personal best with a throw of 36.68 meters to finish in seventh place.
The Warhawks are in Baton Rouge, La., next weekend for the LSU Alumni Gold.
