Broussard Finishes tied-for-19th at NCAA East Prelims

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Clint Broussard finished in a tie for19th place after recording a jump of 2.00 meters (6-6 1/2) Saturday. He was one of three jumpers in 19th place at  NCAA Track & Field East Preliminary Championships, held at Irwin Belk Track on the campus of North Carolina A&T.

Broussard, a senior from Lafayette, La., entered the NCAA East Preliminary Championships with the top mark (2.13 meters) in the Sun Belt and 29th best jump in the East Region. The top 48 athletes in the region advanced to the East Prelims. 

Broussard was one of three Warhawks to advance to the East Prelims this season. He is making his second straight trip.

He won three high jump titles during the regular season. He finished fifth at the Sun Belt Championships two weeks ago.

Indiana's Derek Drouin won the event with a 2.17 meter jump (7-1 1/2). The top 12 athletes from the East Prelims advance to the National Championship in Eugene, Ore.
