Warhawks Lead Nation in Most Returning Starts

Football

MONROE, La. -- When analysts begin discussing schools with the most returning starters among FBS football teams, they only need to know three letters -- ULM.

When ULM lines up at Oklahoma to kickoff the 2013 season, the squad will feature 456 career starts among its offense, defense and special teams units.  ULM leads ACC member Georgia Tech by 30 starts and just two other teams feature 400 or more career starts (Texas, 405; Ole Miss, 400).

Two of ULM's opponents are ranked in the top 25 for career starts.  Baylor ranks tied for 16th with 345 career starts, while Wake Forest sits 24th with 322.  Two departing Sun Belt schools are also ranked in the top 25 as Middle Tennessee is tied with Baylor for 16th and North Texas comes in at 25th (318).  Both Middle Tennessee and North Texas will leave the Sun Belt following this season as both move to Conference USA.

The Warhawks also welcome back the most 2012 player starts as ULM sits at the top of the charts with 252 returning starts.  ULM leads UNLV by two starts with Texas sitting third overall and just three spots behind the Warhawks.
