TULSA, Okla. – The ULM women's golf team shot a 20-over-par 308 in the third and final round of the ORU Shootout, presented by Mark Allen Auto Group, on Tuesday, Sept. 26 to finish ninth (310-308-308 – 926, +62) out of 17 teams at the par-72, 6,085-yard Meadowbrook Country Club.
Lamar won the tournament with a 32-over-par 896 (309-294-293) to finish four strokes ahead of host Oral Roberts (298-302-300 – 900, +36).
It marked the second-straight Top-10 finish for ULM, which opened the fall schedule by placing seventh (15 teams) in the MSU/Payne Stewart Memorial in Springfield, Mo.
"There were many positives today," ULM head women's golf coach
Joni Stephens said. "We had another consistent round below 310. We came out of the gate strong and took care of holes that we really struggled with yesterday. We are beginning to make more birdies and pars. Unfortunately, we struggled to finish the round, and again had some big numbers that set us back.
"Moving forward, we have to do a better job of staying focused on the process throughout the entire round and of letting go of the negatives when they happen. We also have to finish the round. We are giving up too many strokes coming in to the finish line."
Sophomore
Shani White carded a 2-over-par 74 in the third round to place third overall at 3-over-par 219 (72-73-74), just five shots behind the tournament champion Missouri State senior Verena Gimmy (70-70-74 – 214, -2). White fired a 1-under-par 35 on the back nine Tuesday, including six pars and two birdies. She recorded pars of 37 of the 54 holes and totaled eight birdies.
It marked White's second consecutive top-five showing this fall after finishing tied for fifth (9-over-par 222) at the MSU/Payne Stewart Memorial.
"I was really proud to see Shani earn her second top-five finish of the fall," Stephens said. "She has been exhibiting great composure and attitude during competition, and it is paying off in consistently solid scores. She kept her head in some tough spots this week, got herself back into play, and took care of each shot."
Junior
Olivia Landberg fired a 4-over-par 76 in the third round and climbed 13 places into a tie for 36th, with a 54-hole score of 17-over-par 233 (77-80-76). Landberg shot a 1-over-par 37 on the front nine Tuesday, with six pars and one birdie. She posted 36 pars on the 54 holes.

She carded a 1-over-par 37 on the back nine Tuesday, thanks to three pars and three birdies. Bjornsdottir converted five birdies in the final round. She recorded pars on 31 of the 54 holes.
