Munnings Named Sun Belt Player of the Week

Men's Basketball
MONROE, La. – Junior forward Travis Munnings, who averaged 21.0 points and 5.5 rebounds while helping ULM to a homecourt sweep over UT Arlington (84-71) and Texas State (79-71), has been named Sun Belt Player of the Week. The 6-foot-6, 200-pound Munnings made 9-of-21 3-pointers (41 percent) during that two-game stretch.

It marks the second week in a row that a Warhawk has earned the conference's weekly award, as Munnings joins Sam McDaniel.

Munnings played a solid all-around game against UT Arlington, finishing with 16 points, six rebounds, four assists and two blocks in 40 minutes.

He scored a game-high 26 points, hitting 5-of-11 3-pointers, to go along with five rebounds and two steals against Texas State.

"Travis Munnings always plays with tremendous energy; however, he found an extra gear in the past two games against UT Arlington and Texas State," ULM head coach Keith Richard said. "Travis is shooting the ball better this season, especially from behind the 3-point line. He's also doing all the little things well during this winning streak.

"Travis is playing his best basketball at a good time, and we're glad he's being acknowledged for his efforts."

ULM (13-12, 7-7) has won four Sun Belt games in a row and six out of its last seven league games overall. Since Jan. 20, the Warhawks have climbed from 12th (1-6) in the conference standings into a tie for fourth place (7-7).

ULM resumes Sun Belt play later this week with road games at South Alabama (Thursday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m.) and Troy (Saturday, Feb. 24 at 4:15 p.m.).
