MONROE, La – The ULM Warhawk softball team is finally getting a day of rest after a 4-0 run at UCA's softball tournament last weekend. ULM (8-4) is set to face McNeese State University on Wednesday (Feb.28) at 6 p.m., barring that the inclement weather holds off.
Tomorrow's game against McNeese (13-3) will be the third straight meeting between the two Louisiana teams.
The Warhawks will be looking for their fifth straight win, after most recently defeating South Dakota State 9-3 on the final day of the UCA tournament in Conway.
McNeese has started its season building off a successful 2017 campaign that included a Southland Conference championship and a trip to the NCAA regionals.
The Cowgirls are headed back to the boot after participating in the Eastern Michigan Madeire Beach Spring Invitational. McNeese wrapped up play in Florida with a 6-5 win over SEC member, Arkansas.
Last year's match-up was hosted by the Cowgirls, but the Warhawks were the ones bringing home the win after a 3-0 win over McNeese.

Sydney McKay is currently leading ULM with a hefty .468 batting average, while sophomore-senior due

Hunter Hogan are atop the Warhawks with a .697 and .617 slugging percentage respectively.
In the circle, senior
Paige Murray has earned a 4-2 record, pitching a team high 30 innings, striking out 15 batters during her time on the mound.
ULM was originally scheduled to host Alcorn State in a double-header today (Feb.27) at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., but those games have been postponed due to the high possibility of rain.
The Warhawks and the Braves have rescheduled the double-header for later this season, on April 4. Both games will still be held at the ULM Softball Complex.
ULM has added an additional double-header to its schedule as well; the Warhawks have scheduled to host Jackson State late next month on March 27 at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
