Box Score MONROE, La. ? The ULM women's tennis team snapped a two-match skid and improved to 3-0 at Heard Stadium after defeating Stephen F. Austin 6-1 on Saturday afternoon.
ULM (4-4) picked up a pair of doubles wins and five singles victories to claim the decision over the Lady Jacks. The tandems of senior Noelia Leon and junior Sharon Makhanya and freshman Ana Burjaili and sophomore Elodie Burlet claimed victories at No. 1 and 3 doubles, respectively, to give the Warhawks the early 1-0 lead.
Leon, Burjaili, Makhanya, and junior Marion Lehmann each picked up straight set victories in singles play to seal the match. Senior Giovanna Arrondo came from behind to claim a three-set victory at No. 4 singles to round out the Warhawks scoring.
ULM returns to action on Sunday at 10 a.m. when it faces rival Louisiana Tech at Heard Stadium. The Warhawks will play a pair tomorrow, hosting Grambling State at the conclusion of the match against the Lady Techsters at approximately 2 p.m.
