Box Score MONROE, La. ? The Warhawks women's tennis team had several close matches, but came up on the short end of a 6-1 decision against rival Louisiana-Lafayette at Raymond Heard Stadium on the campus of ULM Saturday afternoon.
After dropping the doubles point ULM (8-12) battled the ranked Ragin' Cajuns, but only scratched across a win at No. 6 singles. Junior Sharon Makhanya recovered from a dropped first set to win 2-6, 6-3, 10-4.
The Warhawks will return to action on April 18 when they begin the Sun Belt Conference tournament against a yet to be determined opponent for the first round. ULM will host the league event, its first since joining the conference, as part of Super Warhawk Weekend.
