TROY, Ala.-The ULM women's
golf team leads by two strokes over host Troy following two rounds of the Troy
Invitational on Monday at the Troy Country Club. Two Warhawks sit in the top 10
led by Angela Drane, who is in second place after carding a 75-71-146.
The Warhawks fired a
season-low 297 in the second round to move from a tie for fourth into the lead.
Drane trails Troy's Haley Lawrence (71-74-145) by just one stroke for the
individual lead. After carding two birdies and four bogies in the opening
round, Drane battled back with five birdies and four bogies in the second
round. She has won the individual crown in both of ULM's tournaments this fall.
Taynee Pearson is within
striking distance for the Warhawks in a tie for ninth after carding a
78-75-153. Victoria Gustafsson (78-77-155) is tied for 16th, Lina
Billing is in a tie for 21st (84-74-158), Lina Lagergren is tied for
23rd (79-80-159) and Britany Hanna is in 30th place
(84-77-161) to round out the field for ULM.
ULM (607) and Troy (609) have
a stranglehold on the leaderboard following Monday's play. The Warhawks hold a
10-stroke advantage over third-place Western Kentucky and a 13-stroke lead over
fifth-place South Alabama - both Sun Belt Conference foes of the Warhawks.
The tournament concludes with
18 holes Tuesday beginning at 8 a.m.
