TULSA, Okla.-Led by Angela
Drane's dominating opening day, the ULM women's golf team sits in second place,
just two strokes back, following the opening two rounds of the ORU Shootout at
the Meadowbrook Golf Club on Monday.
Drane shot a 76-70-146 over the
opening two rounds and holds the individual lead by five strokes over Oklahoma
City University's Paige Martin (76-75-151). Drane is off to a remarkable start
to her senior campaign after redshirting last season to complete necessary
coursework needed for graduation. The native of Charlottetown, Canada, took
home individual medalist honors in ULM's first tournament of the fall (Gamecock
Classic, Sept. 6-8).
The Warhawks shot a 313 in the
opening round before coming back in the afternoon session to fire a 309 behind
Drane's 2-under-par 70 and a 4-over-par 76 by Lina Billing. Billing sits in a
tie for 16th place heading into Tuesday's final round after carding
an 82 in the opening round.
Host Oral Roberts holds a slim
two-stroke lead over the Warhawks after carding a 312-308-620 on Monday. Sam
Houston State (624) sits two strokes behind ULM in third place followed by UTEP
(626) and Oklahoma City (627).
ULM's Lina Lagergren is within
striking distance of a top 15 finish for the Warhawks after carding a 78-82-160
over the opening two rounds. She is tied for 26th place heading into
the final round, but is just three strokes out of 15th position. Britany
Hanna (77-85-162) is tied for 36th and Victoria Gustafsson (84-81-165)
is tied for 48th to round out the field for the Warhawks.
Tuesday's final round will be
a shotgun start beginning at 8:30 a.m.
