TULSA, Okla.-ULM senior Angela
Drane went 17 months without playing a collegiate golf tournament after
redshirting the 2008-09 season, since coming back she has won both of ULM's
tournaments this fall after taking individual medalist honors at the ORU
Shootout which concluded Tuesday at the Meadowbrook Golf Club.
Drane (76-70-78-239) fired a final round 78
and finished two strokes ahead of Oral Roberts' Megan O'Connell (77-76-73-226) and McLennan
Community College's Ragna Loafsdottir (77-76-73-226). Oral Roberts (935) won the team title
finishing just one stroke ahead of UTEP (936) and three strokes in front of the
Warhawks (938).
Junior Lina Billing also
turned in a solid performance for the Warhawks carding a 78 on Tuesday to
finish tied for 13th place - the top finish of her ULM career.
Freshman Victoria Gustafsson carded ULM's best round of the day shaving five
shots of her second-round tally to finish with a 4-over-par 76. She moved up 22
slots on the leaderboard to finish tied for 26th. Lina Lagergren (40th)
and Britany Hanna (T57th) rounded out the field for the Warhawks.
The Warhawks have now turned
in two third-place finishes under new head coach Ashley Tonore and hold a 15-4
record on the season. They return to action Oct. 26-27 at the Troy Women's
Invitational.
