GULF SHORES, Ala.-Paced by
Victoria Gustafsson's opening round 76, the ULM women's golf team is in sixth
place after 18 holes of play at the UAB Fall Beach Blast at the Peninsula Golf
and Racquet Club.
The Warhawks shot a 307 as a
team on Monday and trail first place Middle Tennessee by 10 strokes. Memphis is
in second place after carding a 300 while Samford is in third with a 301.
Gustafsson is tied for 15th
place just four strokes behind UAB's Carolyn Cochran and Memphis' Katleen
Glavin who are tie for the individual lead. A trio of Warhawks - Angela Drane,
Lina Billing and Lina Lagregren - are tied for 22nd after carding
matching 77s on Monday, while Taynee Pearson is tied for 38th after
carding a 79.
The second and final round of
play will take place Tuesday with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m.
