MONROE, La. -- Fresh off a solid team performance at the Sun Belt Conference Championships, the ULM track & field team prepares to compete at the NSU Regional Qualification meet in Natchitoches, La., on Saturday.
The men's team attempts to qualify for the NCAA Mideast Regional in seven different events, including the 4x400m relay. Mychal Word will compete in the 200m dash, while Hunter Russell competes in the 800m run.
Jarvis Mansfield, who won the 110m hurdles event at the ULM Warhawk Classic, will attempt to qualify for the regional meet in the same event. Also competing for the Warhawks will be Trevor Hall in the pole vault, Brandon Smithers in the long jump and triple jump, and Josh Howard in the triple jump.
On the women's side, Bola Shoyebi will run in the 100m and 200m dash. Sadrina Shaw will compete in the 100m hurdles, while Jerrica Thomas attempts to qualify in the long jump and triple jump.
The NSU Regional Qualification meet is the final tune-up for the Warhawks before the NCAA Mideast Regional meet in Louisville, Ky., starting May 29.
