Tom Murphy

The "father" of water skiing at ULM after beginning the program in 1978. He secured University funding and turned ULM water skiing into the nation's dominant collegiate program. ULM won 11 national championships in 15 years under his direction. From 1980 through 1988, his teams won nine consecutive national crowns. He passed away Feb. 16, 2000.


Kenny Natt
Capped his ULM career with a spectacular senior season, averaging 20.1 points and leading ULM to conference title. Was first team All-Atlantic Sun, and first team All-Louisiana. Went on to play in the NBA and has coached the past seven years with the Utah Jazz. Along with older brother Calvin, becomes second brother duo to make the ULM Hall of Fame.


Doug Pederson
Established 15 school passing records and finished career with 6,315 yards passing. Also holds 15 individual game passing records including most yards (619). He once completed 16 passes in 18 attempts. Has gone on to produce an 11-year career in the NFL and helped Green Bay win two Super Bowl championships. After also playing with Miami, Cleveland and Philadelphia, Pederson is currently again with the Green Bay Packers.


Clotee Cowans Richardson
Became one of ULM's most acclaimed female track athletes in a career that produced school records, conference titles and All-America honors. Was a two-time All-American sprinter and participated in the Olympic Trials in 1984. Also ran in the NCAA National Meet in 1982 and 1983. Established ULM records in the 100 meters dash and 60 yard dash.


Joe Bob Tyler
Became school's initial football All-American in 1946 as an outstanding lineman. First came to then-Northeast Junior College in 1942 before joining the armed service. Was captured at Battle of the Bulge, returned in 1945 weighing 110 pounds but regained health to make All-America. Later produced outstanding prep coaching career in Texas.
