James Childress
An excellent athlete who eventually proved to be an even better coach, Childress helped lead ULM to an 8-2 record as a senior in 1956, a mark that wasn't exceeded until the 1987 national championship season. Childress played five positions for the Warhawks, making all-GSC as a linebacker in 1956 when he was team MVP. He went on to guide Ruston High School to four state football championships. He was inducted into the LHSAA Hall of Fame in 1989 and the Louisiana Sports Hall in 2001.

Van Pardue
Still prominent in the ULM record book, Pardue is ULM's only pitcher with two no-hitters, both in 1969, and he is tied for first in career shutouts with eight. His career ERA is third best at 1.89 for 228.2 innings, he is fourth in wins with 21, and his winning percentage of .636 (21-12) is still 8th best all-time. During his four year college career, ULM won 115 games, four district 27 titles, three GSC titles and was NAIA national runnerup in 1970.

Phil Trahan
A star on ULM's first tennis team to earn a national Top 25 ranking, Trahan established a career university record with 158 victories, 77 in singles and 81 in doubles. He had a singles winning percentage of 74.0 (77-27) and a doubles winning percentage of 83.5 (81-16). His doubles percentage is still ULM's second best. As a senior, Trahan posted a 23-7 mark in singles to help lead ULM to a 20-2 record and into the NCAA National Tournament where it finished 16th.
