Doug Farr
As a freshman Farr helped the Warhawks capture sixth in the NCAA College Division National Tournament and went on to help ULM win seven tournaments the next three years. He finished his career with a 74.8 medal average, third best in school history; was team medalist in 1974 at 73.5; and co-medalist in 1972 with 73.8. In 1985 he won the Louisiana Amateur title, the Louisiana Open and also helped carry the U.S. to victory in the Simon Bolivar Cup in Caracas, Venezuela.


Charlie Martin
A giant in his profession, “Doc” came to ULM in 1964 from Baltimore, Md., Junior College and established one of the finest training programs in collegiate circles. Dozens of his student trainers have gone on to become full-time athletic trainers, including current ULM trainers David Overturf and Robert Williamson. His research work on heat, humidity and exercise was reported in many publications including Sports Illustrated, NCAA News and Scholastic Coach. Deceased, 1988.


Everett Reynolds
Among the first of a long line of great quarterbacks at ULM, Reynolds twice led the Warhawks in passing and was a first team all-GSC selection in 1958 after completing 29 of 59 passes for 604 yards. Served as tri-captain in 1958 when Indians produced a 6-3 record for their highest GSC finish of the decade (3rd). He also lettered in baseball at ULM and after graduation became an outstanding high school coach in his home state of Texas.


Hugh Smith

A center-linebacker, Smith was one of ULM's finest junior college players and in 1947 was chosen to the Williamson all-America squad. He is one of five junior college all-Americans at ULM. The 1947 Warhawks went 7-2 and defeated Hillsboro, Texas, JC 33-13 in the Junior Sugar Bowl with Smith intercepting three passes, scoring on one and setting up touchdowns with the other two. In 1981 Smith was voted to ULM's “Golden Anniversary Football Team.” Deceased 2006.
