Chuck Finley
Long recognized as one of the top strikeout pitchers in major league baseball during a great career with the California Angels, the big southpaw pitcher played two years with ULM and led the Warhawks in strikeouts in 1984 with 50 and came back with 42 as a senior. He helped the Warhawks win 34 games in 1984, at that time a school record for victories. Finley was inducted into the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame in 2006.

George Luffey
Taking over the ULM baseball program when it was just three years old, Luffey made the Warhawks very competitive for 11 seasons. He led ULM to its first-ever Gulf States Conference baseball championship in 1964 with what was then the best season record (17-10) and conference record (13-3) in school history. He coached 27 all-conference players and produced the school's first all-American, third baseman Charley Dykes (1964). He was also an assistant football coach from 1954-64.

Terry Matthews
In one of the real ironies of ULM sports, Mathews carved out a prominent place in the Warhawks' baseball record book as a hitter but later made it to the Major Leagues as a pitcher. Highlight of his pitching career at ULM was a team-high four saves in 1987 and 5-3 record in 1985. As a hitter he set career records for home runs (41), total bases (366) and RBIs (168). Among single season records he set were home runs (15), total bases (117), RBIs (51) and walks (57).

Tag Rome
After walking on, Rome eventually became ULM's all-time receptions leader with 117 catches for 1,763 yards and 10 TDs. He set a season record with 46 catches in 1982 and was chosen all-Louisiana, all-Southland Conference and honorable mention all-America in both 1982 and 1983. He helped ULM to a 28-16 record during his career and, after four years of pro ball, Rome came back to ULM as an assistant coach in 1989, coaching receivers for five years.
