Former ULM All-American Andras Haklits Finishes Seventh in Hammer Throw at World Championships

BERLIN--Former ULM All-American Andras Haklits finished seventh in the hammer throw at the World Championships currently being held in Berlin, Germany.

Representing Croatia, Haklits recorded a distance of 76.26 meters, just two meters out of medal contention. Slovakia's Primo? Kozmus finished in first place with a throw of 80.84 meters. During the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China, Haklits finished in 10th place with a throw of 76.58 meters.

A former indoor and outdoor All-American for the Warhawks, Haklits won the NCAA National Championship in the hammer throw for the 1999 season.
