CLINTON, Miss. – Moses Chelimo and the ULM men's cross country team opened
their season in dominating fashion as they claimed the team trophy at the Mississippi
College Open on Tuesday evening. The Warhawk women's team also had a strong
showing with a third place finish.
Moses Chelimo claimed individual honors in
the 4K event for the second-straight year as he finished with a time of
16:20.62, which was five seconds better than second place. His teammate, Britt
Koestler, finished in the third position with a time of 16:43.18.
The men's team placed all seven of their runners
in the top 20 positions to finish 16 points better than host-Mississippi
College for the team win.
Madeleine
Robertson paced the women's team with a ninth place finish and a time of
16:41.31. The remaining four Warhawk runners – Lexi Krigbaum, Tyler Blacklock, Denise
Myers, and Kelsie Coats – all ran well to place in the top 15 spots and within

Overall, the ULM women's accumulated 60 points, nine behind
host-Mississippi College, and 20 behind first place West Florida.
Both
the ULM men's and women's teams return to action on Sept. 19 when they host the
