ULM?s Drane Tied for Individual Lead Following Two Rounds of Chris Banister Gamecock Classic

JACKSONVILLE, Ala.-ULM's Angela Drane tied a tournament record by carding a 3-under-par 69 to move into a first place tie following the second round of the Chris Banister Classic on Monday.  The Warhawks, under the direction of first year head coach Ashley Tonore, sit in third place heading into Tuesday's final round at the par-72, 5,943-yard Silver Lakes on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail.

Drane is tied with Lamar's Linda Persson for the individual lead - Persson matched Drane's opening round 74 and second round 69 scores. This is the first tournament for Drane since finishing second at the Lady Eagle Invitational held April 7-8, 2008. The senior from Charlottetown, Canada, redshirted last season in order to complete specific course work needed for graduation.

Lamar leads the eight-team tournament with a score of 596, nine strokes better than host-Jacksonville State (605). The Warhawks shaved two strokes off their opening round score shooting a 304 in the second round and sit in third place with a two-round total of 610. Indiana State (615) is in fourth followed by Arkansas State (623), Butler (632), Northeastern State (648) and West Georgia (678).

Taynee Pearson is poised to make a top 10 finish for the Warhawks after firing a 75-77-152. The junior from Durbin, South Africa, is tied for 10th place and is just two strokes out of seventh place. Freshman Lina Lagergren also shot a 77 in the second round and sits in 17th place, while junior Lina Billing is tied for 22nd and freshman Victoria Gustafsson is in 25th position.

The Warhawks will be the in the final grouping tomorrow morning with Gustafsson going out first at 8:50 a.m. and Drane teeing off last at 9:30 a.m.
