ULM Finishes 18th at USF-Waterlefe Invitational

BRADENTON, Fla. – The ULM women's golf team completed the final round of the USF-Waterlefe Invitational Tuesday morning and placed 18th on the par-72, 5,998 yard Waterlefe Golf Club.

Freshman Ali Lucas matched her score from Monday's second round and shot 75 in the final round for a total 229 to finish tied for 20th overall.  Lucas finished one-under-par during the last six holes of her round with her lone birdie of the day coming on the par-3, 153 yard ninth hole. Mitusuki Katahira of Daytona State maintained her lead from the first day and shot a combined 208 (69-68-71) to claim medalist honors.

Daytona State fired a five-over-par 289 to overtake Nova Southeastern and win the team title by eight strokes with a total 884 (296-299-289) while the Sharks finished in second (294-298-300-892). Host South Florida placed third (303-305-300-908), while Sun Belt Conference rival Middle Tennessee finished in fourth (304-306-301-911) and Southern Miss finished in fifth (308-304-308-920).

Senior Lina Billing finished with an 80 in the third round to total 238 for the tournament and finish tied for 45th overall. Senior Monica Brown's 82 gave her a total score of 250 to finish tied for 84th, with senior Britany Hanna was just two strokes off as she shot 81 in the final round to total 252 and place 88th. Sophomore Lina Lagergren rounded out the field for the Warhawks tying for 92nd overall.

ULM will wrap up their fall season Nov. 1-2 at UAB's Fall Beach Bash in Gulf Shores, Ala.
