KINDER, La.-Behind the strength of three players in the
top four, the ULM women's golf team leads the Koasati Pines Collegiate Classic
at the par-72, 6,025-yard Koasati Pines Country Club. Play was halted on Monday
midway through the second round due to darkness.
ULM's Angela Drane, who won a pair of events and finished
second in another during the fall season, sits in a second-place tie after
carding a 74 in the opening round. She trails Stephen F. Austin's Wallis Spears
by one stroke heading into Tuesday's play.
Warhawk teammates Lina Lagergren and Taynee Pearson each
fired 77s over the first 18 holes to sit in a three-way tie for fourth with Sam
Houston State's Jessica Borth. Victoria Gustafsson (T-13th) and Lina
Billing (T-23rd) round out the field for ULM.
The Warhawks led Sam Houston State by six strokes
following the opening round of play and second round scores were not reported
as the majority of the field had not yet completed the round.
Play will continue on Tuesday with the remainder of round
two and the third and final round.
