ULM Women's Golf in 10th Following Day Two of Sun Belt Championship

MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala.-The ULM women's golf team slipped to 10th place following the second round of the Sun Belt Conference Championship on the Schoolmaster Course at Robert Trent Jones at the Shoals. The Warhawks, who entered the day in sixth place, shot a 324 on Tuesday.

Britany Hanna led the Warhawks on day two dropping in a pair of birdies over her first 10 holes before finishing with a 6-over-par 78 for the second straight day. She is in a tie with teammate Angela Drane for 31st place heading into Wednesday's final round - the duo are just four strokes off a top-20 finish after shooting a 156 through the first two rounds.

Drane shot 3-over on the front nine and 4-over on the back to nine to finish with a 79. Lina Billing carded an 81 on Tuesday, but was just 4-over-par heading into the final two holes of her round. Billing is the leader in the clubhouse for the Warhawks in a tie for 26th place - one stroke ahead of Hanna and Drane and just three strokes away from a top-15 finish.

Lina Lagergren and Taynee Pearson rounded out the field for the Warhawks. Lagergren finished her second round with an 86 after taking a 10 on the par-4 fifth hole. She rebounded with a pair of birdies on the back nine and sits in a tie for 50th place. Pearson, who is in 54th place, charged out of the gates with a birdie on two and a 2-over-par 38 on the front nine. However, she struggled on the back nine and finished her second round with an 88.

No. 18 Denver leads Middle Tennessee by 19 shots heading into the final 18 holes, while Florida International and UALR are two shots behind MTSU in a tie for third. Four players are tied for first place with two-round totals of 144.

The Warhawks will start on the back nine and will be in the first group to tee off Wednesday morning. Pearson will be the first one on the course at 7:30 a.m. followed by Lagergren (7:38), Hanna (7:46), Drane (7:54) and Billing (8:02).
