ULM Women's Golf Finishes 10th at Sun Belt Conference Championship -- Drane Named All-Sun Belt

MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala.-Angela Drane and Lina Billing combined for six birdies over the final nine holes to lead ULM in the final round of the Sun Belt Conference Women's Golf Championship. The Warhawks fired a 306 Wednesday on the Schoolmaster Course at Robert Trent Jones at the Shoals to finish in 10th place.

Drane was named to the All-Sun Belt team for the third consecutive year in the awards ceremony following the tournament. The now four-time all-conference performer dominated the final nine holes finishing 3-under-par on the front nine - the Warhawks started the day on the 10th hole. 

She finished in a tie for 20th place overall after carding an even-par 72 on the day. Drane had a team-high five birdies in the round and conquered the two holes that had given her trouble earlier in the week. She was a combined 9-over-par on the eighth and 17th holes in her opening two rounds, on Wednesday she pared both holes.

Billing finished tied for 25th place after shooting a 3-over-par 75 on Wednesday. She dropped in a pair of birdies on the front nine and one on the back nine. All three of her birdies on Wednesday and five of her eight birdies in the tournament came on par-4 holes.

Taynee Pearson rebounded from a tough second round to fire a 7-over-par 79 for the Warhawks in the final round. Pearson, who finished 53rd, birdied two of her first five holes and finished the back nine 1-over-par. Lina Lagergren shot an 80 on Wednesday and finished in a tie for 50th place.  Britany Hanna shot even par on the front nine thanks to birdies on four and seven, but struggled on the back nine to finish at 81 for the day and tied for 42nd place overall.

Denver won its seventh straight team title after shooting a 1-over-par 865 over the three rounds. The Pioneers won by 34 strokes over second place Middle Tennessee. UALR, South Alabama and North Texas rounded out the top five. Denver's Kimberly Kim won the individual crown by one stroke over teammate Ellie Givens after shooting a 1-under-par 71 on Wednesday.
