MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala.-Angela Drane
and Lina Billing combined for six birdies over the final nine holes to lead
ULM in the final round of the Sun Belt Conference Women's Golf Championship. The Warhawks fired
a 306 Wednesday on
the Schoolmaster Course at Robert Trent Jones at the Shoals to finish in 10th
place.
Drane was named to the All-Sun
Belt team for the third consecutive year in the awards ceremony following the tournament.
The now four-time all-conference performer dominated the final nine holes
finishing 3-under-par on the front nine - the Warhawks started the day on the 10th
hole.
She finished in a tie for 20th
place overall after carding an even-par 72 on the day. Drane had a team-high
five birdies in the round and conquered the two holes that had given her
trouble earlier in the week. She was a combined 9-over-par on the eighth and 17th
holes in her opening two rounds, on Wednesday she pared both holes.
Billing finished tied for 25th
place after shooting a 3-over-par 75 on Wednesday. She dropped in a pair of
birdies on the front nine and one on the back nine. All three of her birdies on
Wednesday and five of her eight birdies in the tournament came on par-4 holes.
Taynee Pearson rebounded from
a tough second round to fire a 7-over-par 79 for the Warhawks in the final
round. Pearson, who finished 53rd, birdied two of her first five
holes and finished the back nine 1-over-par. Lina Lagergren shot an 80 on
Wednesday and finished in a tie for 50th place. Britany Hanna shot even par on the front nine
thanks to birdies on four and seven, but struggled on the back nine to finish
at 81 for the day and tied for 42nd place overall.

straight team title after shooting a 1-over-par 865 over the three rounds. The
Pioneers won by 34 strokes over second place Middle Tennessee. UALR, South
Alabama and North Texas rounded out the top five. Denver's Kimberly Kim won the
