DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Inclement weather continued in the
Daytona Beach area Sunday morning, making the par-72, 6,084 yard Legends Course
at LPGA international unplayable and forced the cancellation of the final round
of the Xavier LPGA Invitational. The first round results become final and the
ULM women's golf team finished second to claim its second-straight top-three
result.
Jennifer Park picked up her third-straight top-10 finish of
the season with a three-over-par 75 on Friday to tie for eighth overall. Ali
Lucas and Lina Lagergren also fired 75 to tie for eighth individually, marking
the first top-10 finish for both Warhawks this season.
ULM shot 304 to finish six strokes back of tournament
champion Campbell which carded a 10-over-par 298. The Warhawks have claimed a
top-six result in all three tournaments this season with their second place
finish at
the Xavier LPGA Invitational being the lowest yet.
Tournament
host Xavier finished two strokes back from ULM to place third and Stetson placed
fourth with 307 total. Mercer and Daytona State each carded 310 to tie for
fifth overall.
Emily
Stratton and Ines Fendt complete the Warhawk line-up as Stratton carded a
seven-over-par 79 to tie for 29thoverall while Fendt shot 87 to tie
for 62nd.
ULM takes
a two week break before traveling to the MTSU Invitational hosted by Sun Belt
Conference member Middle Tennessee Oct. 24-25 for its final tournament of the
