ULM Warhawks

VICTORIA, Texas – The ULM women's golf team kicked off its spring season Sunday at the Claud Jacobs Intercollegiate with a 322 in the first round to sit in a tie for 10^th overall on the par-72, 6,028 yard Victoria Country Club. The second round ended early due to nightfall and will resume immediately tomorrow morning before the final round begins.

Senior Taynee Pearson paced the Warhawks with a four-over-par 76 to tie for sixth overall. She sits five strokes back from individual leader Kamryn Ruffin of Tulsa who fired the lone sub-par round of the day with a 71. The Durbin, South Africa, native stayed consistent and carded a 38 on both the front and back nines while sinking two birdies on the par-5 first hole and par-5 13^th hole.

ULM's 322 is 21 strokes back from leader Kansas which fired a 301 to lead the field by eight strokes. Sun Belt Conference rival North Texas is in second place after shooting 309 total while tournament host Texas State and Tulsa are three strokes back in a tie for third with 312.

Sophomore Lina Lagergren was the only other Warhawk to score in the 70s with a seven-over-par 79 to tie for 21^st overall. Freshman Ali Lucas carded an 83 while senior Lina Billing was one stroke off with an 84 to tie for 53^rd and 58^th place, respectively. Senior Britany Hanna enters tomorrow tied for 81^st place.

The field will wrap up the second round of the Claud Jacobs Intercollegiate tomorrow morning before playing the final round immediately after.
