BATON ROGUE, La. – The ULM women's golf team shaved 22
strokes off its first round score Saturday to move up two spots on the leaderboard
to 19th overall entering the final round of the LSU Golf Classic on
the par-72, 6,186 yard University Club.
Lina Billing continues to lead the Warhawks overall in a tie
for 38th individually after shooting 78 in the second round to total
154 total (76-78). Stephanie Meadow of Alabama surged from a tie for seventh to
claim the lead after firing a one-under-par 71 for a combined 144, two strokes ahead
of second place Stacey Kim of Duke and Nicole Agnello of Virginia.
Three new teams enter the top-five of the leaderboard as
Alabama, Arkansas, Virginia and first round leader Wake Forest are deadlocked
in a four-way tie for first place at 601 total. Arkansas shot a low round of 296
to make the biggest leap of the day by jumping eight spots overall from a tie
for ninth yesterday.
Ali Lucas fired the low round for the Warhawks in the second
round, equaling Billing's first round four-over-par 76 for the lowest score shot
by ULM thus far. Lucas is tied for 81st overall at 163 total while
Taynee Pearson sits one stroke ahead in a tie for 77th after carding
a 79 for 162 total. Lina Lagergren and Britany Hanna complete the Warhawks in a
tie for 86th and in 107th place, respectively.
ULM will play the final round of the LSU Golf Classic
tomorrow morning with a shotgun start scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Fans can follow
