ULM Tennis Wins 11th Straight with 5-2 Victory at McNeese State

LAKE CHARLES, La. -- The ULM tennis team won its 11th straight match with a 5-2 victory at McNeese State on Sunday. The Warhawks swept all three doubles matches and won four of the six singles matches.

Clark Clark and Monica Winkel were the first to finish in doubles as they turned in an 8-4 victory on court two to improve to 12-1 on the season as a pair. Vivian Polak and Ana Burjaili wrapped up the doubles point for the Warhawks (12-1) with an 8-2 victory on court three, while Medy Blankvoort and Letha Gaigher completed the sweep with an 8-5 win on court one.

Winkel increased the ULM lead out to 2-1 with a 6-1, 6-3 victory on court two, while Polak pulled the Warhawks within one point of winning the match with a 6-3, 6-0 win on court six. The Cowgirls (3-8) picked up their first point of the match as Kwynn Biggs won on court five.

Burjaili clinched the match for the Warhawks with a 7-6, 6-0 win on court four. Tea Tvrtkovic won on court three for McNeese State's other point of the match. Clark closed out the match with a 6-2, 6-7, 10-7 win on court one.

The Warhawks return to the courts on Saturday when they host Nicholls State at Heard Stadium beginning at 11 a.m.
