ULM Warhawks

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, Ark. – The ULM women's golf team fired two solid rounds of 309 and 310 during the first day of the UALR Golf Classic Monday to sit tied for ninth overall on the par-72, 5,999 yard Diamante Country Club.

Senior Taynee Pearson was the only Warhawk to shoot both rounds in the 70s as she carded a three-over-par 75 in the morning before finishing the day with a 77 to shoot 152 total and sit tied for 17^th overall. Pearson trails individual leader Laura Stempfle of FIU by six strokes who shot rounds of 72 and 74 for 146 total.

ULM's consistent play put it in a tie for ninth with Wichita State in the highly competitive 19-team field and just nine strokes out of cracking the top-five overall. Fellow Sun Belt Conference opponent Arkansas State shot a tournament-low 301 in the first round and finished the day at 606 total (301-305) to lead the field while Missouri State and Eastern Michigan sit two strokes back in a tie for second at 608.

Lina Billing also fired a 75 in the first round before an 80 in the second round to sit tied for 33^rd overall with 155 total. Ali Lucas improved by eight strokes in the second round to card a team-low 74 for the day and is one stroke back from Billing in a tie for 35^th at 156 total. Britany Hanna and Lina Lagergren both shot identical combined scores of 160 to complete the Warhawk lineup and sit tied for 62^nd individually.

ULM will complete the final round of the UALR Golf Classic Tuesday morning at the Diamante Country Club.
