MONROE,
La. - ULM's Jerrica Thomas was named the Sun Belt Women's Field Athlete of the
Week, announced by the conference office Tuesday. It marks the second
consecutive week that a ULM athlete has been recognized by the conference.
A senior
from Utica, Miss., Thomas won her third consecutive triple jump title this past
weekend at the North Texas Classic, leaping 12.22 meters to earn the victory.
The jump is the second best in the Sun Belt this season, tying her season-high that was
set two weeks ago at the Southern Miss Invitational.
The ULM
men and women have combined to win 14 titles through the first three weeks of
the outdoor season, paced by three victories each from Thomas and senior
Lakeitha Elmore.
The
Warhawks will be back in action this weekend at the SFA Quad in Nacogdoches,
Texas.
