HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, Ark. - The ULM women's golf team
dropped four spots from yesterday to finish in a three-way tie for 13th
place at the UALR Golf Classic Tuesday on the par-72, 5,999 yard Diamante
Country Club.
Taynee Pearson matched her first round score of
three-over-par 75 during the final round to fall one spot overall and finish
tied for 18th at 227 total. FIU's Laura Stempfle held on to the
individual lead with a final round 73 to finish at 219 total and claim medalist
honors.
ULM shot 313 in the final round for a combined score of 932
to finish in a three-way tie with Western Michigan and Ball State. Oral Roberts
fired a tournament-low 294 to surge from fourth place yesterday and win the
team title with 903 total (305-304-294) while Missouri State and first day
leader and fellow Sun Belt Conference member Arkansas State finished tied for
second at 905 total.
Lina Billing and Ali Lucas each finished in a tie for 49th
after shooting rounds of 80 and 79, respectively, for a combined 235. Lina
Lagergren also shot 79 to end in a tie for 70th with 239 total while
Britany Hanna completed the Warhawk lineup in 77th place with 241
total.
ULM wraps up its regular season tournament schedule next
Monday and Tuesday when it travels to Chandler, Ariz., to compete in the
Wyoming Cowgirl Classic.
