MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. - The ULM women's golf team shot 313 for
the opening round of the Club Glove Sun Belt Conference Championship Monday
afternoon to place 11th entering the second round on the par-72,
6,127 yard Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail Schoolmaster Course.
Three Warhawks finished with identical team-low rounds of
six-over-par 78 including Ali Lucas, Lina Billing and Taynee Pearson to tie
for 37th individually. Pearson carded a team-high three birdies, all
on the back nine to finish two-over-par for the backside. Malin Lundberg of
UALR was the only player to break par with a two-under-par 70 to lead the field
by one stroke.
ULM's 313 puts it 13 strokes out of cracking the top-five
and just three strokes back from overtaking South Alabama and Western Kentucky.
First day leader Denver fired a one-over-par 289 for a four-stroke cushion
over North Texas and UALR in second place at 293. Arkansas State (299) and
Middle Tennessee (300) round out the top-five.
Britany Hanna carded an seven-over-par 79 to tie for 47th
place entering the second round tomorrow. Lina Lagergren completes the Warhawk
lineup with an 82 to tie for 51st overall.
The second round of the Club Glove Sun Belt Conference
Championship begins tomorrow morning with tee times starting at 7:30 a.m. Live stats
