MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. - The ULM women's golf team improved one
stroke from its first two rounds to shoot 312 during the final day of the Club
Glove Sun Belt Conference Championship Wednesday afternoon and conclude the
2010-11 season with a 10th place finish on the par-72, 6,127 yard Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail
Schoolmaster Course.
Ali Lucas ended as the low finisher for the Warhawks despite
struggling to an 82 in the final round to shoot 229 total and tie for 28th
place overall. Anna Carling of Arkansas State won medalist honors after
shooting a combined 215.
ULM totaled 938 for all three rounds to edge out Western
Kentucky by two strokes and finish the tournament in 10th place. Denver
held strong with a final round 292 to shoot 875 total and finish as the 2011
Sun Belt Champions while Middle Tennessee finished five strokes back in second
place with 880 total. UALR completed the top-three at 887 total.
Britany Hanna carded a team-low three-over-par 75 to finish
second for ULM in a tie for 46th individually with 237 total. Taynee
Pearson and Lina Lagergren shot identical rounds of six-over-par 78 to finish
right behind one another in 49th place with 238 total and 50th
place with 239 total, respectively. Lina Billing ended in a tie for 51st
with a combined 243.
