MONROE, La. - 30 ULM student-athletes were rewarded for their hard work
in the classroom Saturday, receiving their college diplomas at the 2011
Spring Commencement inside Fant-Ewing Coliseum on ULM's campus.
"We are certainly proud of these young men and women," Director of
Athletics Bobby Staub said. "They have done an outstanding job during their
careers at ULM and serve as a point of pride for the Warhawk family by earning
their degrees."
Claire Clark (tennis) and Ruslan Hemed (track & field) each
graduated summa cum laude with a grade-point average of 3.9 or better. Clark
was one of just 12 students to graduate with a 4.0 grade-point average. In all,
16 student-athletes graduated with a 3.0 grade-point average or better.
The Warhawk football team had the most graduates of any team with 10,
including Alex Chase, Quantez Hunter, Alvin Jordan, Scott Love, Anthony McCall,
Aaron Morgan, Trey Revell, Rahvi Smith, Theo Smith and Tim Taylor.
Also graduating were Shane Ardoin (baseball), Jarrett Hammond
(baseball), Matt Laird (baseball), Jordy Posche (baseball), Kyle Kent (track &
field), Jorel Torres (track & field), Kassie Courtney (basketball),
Sannisha Williams (basketball), Britany Hanna (golf), Samantha Cashman
(soccer), Sarah Carriger (softball), Heather Fritz (softball), Brianna Love
(softball), Ana Burjaili (tennis), Victoria Floyd (track & field), Jerrica
Thomas (track & field), Christi Tribble (volleyball) and Stephanie Wardach
(volleyball).
