ROUGE, La. - Sophomore Daniel Mutai ran to a pair of wins Friday to pace the
ULM track & field squad at the LSU Twilight at the LSU
Field House.
Mutai
ran a time of 4:21.52 to win the men's 1-mile run, just ahead of three LSU
runners. He finished his day with a convincing victory in the men's 3,000-meter
run. Mutai clocked a time of 8:48.61 and cleared the field by almost 17
seconds. He has now won three titles during the indoor season.
Senior
Luther Ambrose nearly broke the school record in the men's 60-meter dash during the prelims on
Friday, finishing in a time of 6.83 for fourth place.
In
addition, the ULM 4X400-meter relay team of Keyon Jones, Jamel Sams, Jestin
Miller and Dimitri Hampton finished fourth in a time of 3:20.43.
The Warhawks will compete at the Sun Belt Indoor Championships Feb. 25-26 in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
