AUSTIN, Texas - The ULM men's 4X400-meter relay team qualified for the
finals at the Texas Relays on Friday. The team of senior Jestin Miller,
freshman Jamel Sams, junior Dimitri Hampton and senior Keyon Jones clocked a
time of 3:10.73 to finish seventh in the preliminaries. It was the fastest time
this season for ULM, which will compete in the finals Saturday.
Senior Josh Howard finished third in the men's triple jump section B with
a best leap of 50-0.75 (15.26 meters), senior Richard McKay took seventh in the
men's javelin section A with a season-high throw of 223-9 (68.20 meters) and
junior Clint Broussard took eighth in the men's high jump section B with a jump
of 6-10.75 (2.10 meters).
Also, senior Luther Ambrose just missed qualifying for the finals in
the 100-meter dash. Ambrose ran a time of 10.44 to finish 12th in a competitive
field.
The Warhawks will wrap up action at the Texas Relays Saturday.
