WOODFOREST, Texas. -- The men's golf team finished the first two rounds of play leading in both team and individual competition in the HBU Husky Invitational, held at the Woodforest Golf Course.
The Warhawks carded a 13-under 555 after a strong round two performance (286-269--555). “We played solid in the morning and spectacular in the afternoon on a very good golf course,” head coach Walt Williams said. “We are going to go get a good night's rest and come out tomorrow morning and try to close out the win.”
The team's second round score of 269 is a new record low; the previous ULM record for a team round was a 286 shot at the 2012 Rice Intercollegiate.
Charlie Macneal leads the individual competition along with UALR's Nick Zimmerman. Macneal shot a 6-under 136 to move into a tie for the top spot. ULM's Greg Smail and Mason Seaborn are both tied for third after shooting a 4-under 138.
The final round will begin Tuesday morning at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start.
