Gulf Shores, Ala. -- The ULM men's golf team finished the first two rounds of play in a tie for second place at the ASU Fall Beach Classic, hosted by Arkansas State.
The Warhawks carded a 7-over 295 in the first round, followed by a 287 in round two to finish with a 6-over 582. The team sits in a tie for second with Louisiana Tech and Arkansas State; they are just two strokes behind West Florida who leads the competition with a 4-over 580.
Mason Seaborn leads ULM after posting a 2-under 142; Seaborn is tied for fifth place with Talin Rajendranath of West Florida. Joining Seaborn in the top ten is Greg Smail who finished the day in a tie for seventh with a 1-under 143.
“We played fairly well today as a team with Mason and Greg playing great and keeping us in the hunt,” head coach Walt Williams said, “It is very tight with only four strokes separating six teams. We're going to get a good night's sleep and make a run at two wins in a row tomorrow morning.”
The final round of play is scheduled to begin tomorrow morning with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
