PALM DESERT, Calif. -- The ULM men's golf team ended play with an impressive 8-under 280 in the final round of the Wyoming Cowboy Desert Intercollegiate, hosted by Wyoming.
“We had a great day out here today,” head coach Walt Williams said.
The Warhawks carded the second lowest score of the day in a 23-team field that featured a combined nine schools from the Big 12 and Pac 12 and included two top-25 ranked teams (No. 25 Iowa State and No. 19 Oregon).
ULM moved up another four spots to finish the tournament in 11th place; they finished ahead of Big 12 schools Texas Tech, Kansas and Kansas State and 37 strokes in front of fellow Sun Belt school UALR.
Mason Seaborn and Calum Hill both carded a 4-under 68, followed close behind by Velten Meyer (71), Charlie Macneal (73) and Greg Smail (75).
“It was a great experience for our guys and we're looking forward to a great season!” said Williams.
The men's team returns to action on March 3rd in the Argent Financial tournament.
