LAREDO, Texas -- The ULM men's golf team sits in fourth place after the first two rounds of the Border Olympics, hosted by the University of Houston.
The Warhawks carded an 8-over 296 in the first round of the tournament followed by an even 288 to finish the day in front of 13 teams in a very strong 17-team field. They sit behind three nationally ranked teams and are just six strokes behind Houston, the eighth ranked team in the country.
Mason Seaborn leads the Warhawks, currently sitting in fourth place in the individual leaderboards after carding an impressive 7-under 65 in the second round of play. Seaborn is just three strokes behind tournament leader Jerry Ruiz of Baylor.
“The guys played solid in the first round and then Mason played spectacularly in the second round,” head coach Walt Williams said, “we will be paired with the big boys tomorrow, Oklahoma, Baylor and Houston. It will be a great opportunity for our guys to test their games against some of the best and we very much look forward to it.”
The final round of the tournament will begin Saturday morning.
