Grieder Completes First Day of Texas Relays Decathlon

AUSTIN, Texas – Junior Isaac Grieder represented the ULM track & field program in the decathlon at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays on Wednesday and completed the first of two days with 2910 points at Mike A. Myers Stadium.

 

Grieder started the day on a high-note with a personal-record time of 11.06 in the 100m, good for 12th-place. It broke his previous best of 11.17 set at the Southern Miss invite earlier this season.

 

The Garland, Texas native followed it up with a 6.52m leap in the long jump and a 12.64m throw in the shot put. In the final of the first five events, Grieder set another personal-record of 52.21 in the 400m.

 

Grieder will conclude the decathlon on Thursday after five more events.

 

Also competing at the Texas Relays this week are freshman Vinnie Van Puyvelde and junior Hillary Kirwa in the 1500m, sophomore Dusan Makevic in the 5000m, senior Martin Solomon and freshman Andre Phillips in the 400m hurdles, Solomon in the 110m hurdles and relays teams in the distance medley and 4x400m.
