Box Score BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The ULM tennis program closed out the regular season with a 4-0 defeat to Troy on Sunday on a neutral court, hosted by UAB.
The Warhawks (8-9) were edged in doubles competition as they dropped a tiebreaker at the deciding match at the No. 1 spot. Sophomore Petra Horakova and freshman Marnelle Boshoff picked up an 8-5 victory at the No. 3 position.
In singles, Troy (14-7) grabbed results at the No. 1, 3 and 6 slots to clinch the match. Freshman Sandy Lochu was leading 6-3, 4-2 at No. 5 singles when the match was called, and freshman Angela Tejedor was ahead 6-4, 2-2 at No. 4 singles.
The Warhawks will now turn their attention to the Sun Belt Conference Championships which begin Thursday in New Orleans. The conference office is hosting the single-elimination competition.
