Box Score 2 MONROE, La. – The ULM tennis team started the season 2-0 after topping Alcorn State 4-0 on Thursday morning before rounding out the afternoon with a 4-0 victory over Southern at Heard Stadium.
Match One
The first match started with doubles as Petra Horakova and Sophie Rufyikiri dominated Siobhan Ryan-Bovey and Ivana Boberic 6-0 on court one, while Letha Gaigher and Jana Duhanova topped Patricia Normand and Punj 6-1 on court three to clinch the doubles point for ULM
On court four in singles, Horakova blanked Potapova 6-0, 6-0, while Gaigher topped Punj 6-1, 6-3 on court five.
Duhanova then clinched the match for the Warhawks with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Normand on court six.
Match Two
Match two saw Horakova and Rufyikiri defeat Nicki Neal and Laura Syori 7-5 on court two in doubles, but Olivier and Botha dropped a 7-6 decision to Darnesha Moore and Gabrielle More on court one.
Gaigher and Duhanova beat Kendall Bunch and Morgan Taylor 7-6 as the Warhawks clinched the doubles point for the second straight match.
On court two, Rufyikiri captured a singles victory as she won a 6-0, 6-2 match over D. Moore, While Horakova collected a 6-0, 6-2 win over G. Moore.
Duhanova then cleaned up the match to secure another victory for ULM with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Camara Davis.
The Warahawks take the courts again on as they travel to Northwestern State for a 1:00 p.m. matchup.
