Box Score MONROE, La. – Despite dropping the doubles point, the ULM tennis team came back to defeat Northwestern State 4-3 on Tuesday afternoon in Jack Fisher Tennis Complex.
Northwestern State jumped out to an early 1-0 lead as they took the doubles point. Court one saw Tatiana Larina and Aliona Ladutska defeat Sophie Rufyikiri and Petra Horakova 6-1 before Polina Ivanova and Emily Kerr clinched the doubles point for the Lady Demons as they topped Letha Gaigher and Jana Duhanova 6-4.
Horakova garnered the first point for the Warkawks as she captured a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Aliona Ladutska on court three, but Northwestern State's Larina used a 6-1, 6-3 win over Amy Olivier on court one to put the Lady Demons on top once again.
On court five, Duhanova topped Northwestern State's Ivanova 6-2, 6-1 to draw ULM even with the Lady Demons, but Emily Kerr's 2-6, 6-1, 6-2 victory on court six gave the home team a 3-2 advantage.
Beata Kull collected a 6-2, 6-3 win over Barbora Kollarova on court four to bring the match to a 3-3 draw before Rufyikiri used a 3-6, 7-5, 6-0 come-from-behind victory over Natalya Krutova on court two to clinch the match for the Warhawks.
ULM will take the court again on Saturday as they host New Orleans at 11:00 p.m. in Heard Stadium.
