Box Score MONROE, La. – For the fifth time in as many meetings, the ULM women's tennis team topped in-state rival UL-Lafayette. This time, the Warhawks collected a 4-1 victory on Monday afternoon in Heard Stadium.
The Warhawks (8-4, 2-0 SBC) took the lead over the Cajuns (3-11, 0-2 SBC) as they captured the doubles point. Petra Horakova and Sophie Rufyikiri defeated Nelo Phiri and Elena Sava 8-6 on court one, while Amy Olivier and Letha Gaigher topped Lauren Dupuis and Kelly Drew 8-5 on court three.
In singles, Olivier defeated ULL's Phiri on court one, while Rufyikiri dominated Sava 6-0, 6-3 on court three.
Drew Kelly handed Horakova her first loss of the season, a 6-4, 6-2 decision on court two, but Gaigher captured a 6-0, 6-2 win over Dupuis as ULM won the contest 4-1.
The Warhawks take the court again on Friday as they travel to Southern Miss for a 2:00 p.m. contest.
