Box Score HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The ULM tennis team extended their win-streak to five matches as they defeated Southern Miss 5-2 on Saturday afternoon at the USM Tennis Courts.
The Warhawks (10-4) captured the doubles point over the Golden Eagles (8-8) to start the match. Petra Horakova and Sophie Rufyikiri topped Carlin Drescher and Alex Kitchen 6-4 on court one, while Jana Duhanova and Anandhi Botha defeated Claudia Castella and Lisa Schneider 6-3. Amy Olivier and Letha Gaigher collected a 6-4 victory over Elena Roca and Kathrin Waidner as ULM secured the doubles point.
On court two, Horakova also captured a 6-0, 6-2 win over USM's Castella to improve to 13-1 on the season.
Rufyikiri beat Golden Eagle Schneider 6-4, 6-3 on court three, while Duhanova collected a 6-0, 6-4 victory over Southern Miss' Roca on court five.
Gaigher rounded out the afternoon with a 7-6, 1-6, 10-8 win over Karina Gurgenyan on court six.
ULM will take the court again on Wednesday as they travel to Cleveland, Miss. to face Delta State at 1:30 p.m.
