Box Score LAFAYETTE, La. -- ULM won 4-2 over UL Lafayette on Thursday night, the Warhawks' sixth consecutive over their in-state and Sun Belt rival.
The Ragin' Cajuns swept doubles play and also won the first singles match when Abby Johnson got the best of Ioana Popescu. It just the second loss of the spring for the Pitesti, Romania, native in nine matches.
The Warhawks (10-2) remained 29-4 on the back three courts despite that loss on No. 5.
Patricia Villar and Tiffany Mylonas followed with back-to-back smooth wins that gave ULM a 3-2 lead.
Martina Husarova's comeback 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 win on the No. 1 court was her third clincher of the season. It was also her first match of the year playing anywhere but the No. 2.
ULM was coming off a 7-0 win over Alcorn State on March 15.
The Warhawks will continue play at the Cajun Courts Friday at 1:30 p.m. when they take on Texas State.
