Box Score FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. -- The undefeated ride for the ULM tennis team ended Monday with a tight 4-3 loss to Troy on a neutral court.
The Warhawks won the doubles point, something they had done just four times during its 8-0 opening to the season. Tiffany Mylonas and Luana Stanciu improved to 6-1 as a pair in the process.
Stanciu also picked up a convincing 6-3, 6-2 win in singles after Troy struck first in that competition. Martina Husarova saved her fourth consecutive victory for a good time, defeating Hannah Seizer 6-4, 6-3 to keep ULM alive. Troy's Nancy Karaky, however, rallied to top Ioana Popescu in the deciding blow.
Pauline Van Herck and Ioana Popescu each moved to 2-0 as a doubles pair. Mylonas' loss was her first in 11 outings (including the final three of the fall).
The Warhawks will look to get back on the winning track Tuesday against Mercer in Fort Walton Beach at 10 a.m.
